Marilyn Murray Willison

Marilyn Murray Willison is the recipient of the Florida Writers’ Association 2015 Royal Palm Literary Award for her sixth book, ONE WOMAN, FOUR DECADES, EIGHT WISHES: A JOURNALIST’S MEMOIR OF CHALLENGE, CHANGE AND GROWTH. She has also lectured to thousands of South Floridians about her fifth non-fiction book, THE SELF-EMPOWERED WOMAN: 17 CHARACTERISTICS OF HIGH ACHIEVERS.

Willison has written for the Sunday Times of London, the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post. THE SELF-EMPOWERED WOMAN offers her unique look at a wide variety of achievers, including Meredith Vieira, Joan Rivers, Oprah, Celine Dion, Diane Sawyer, and Maya Angelou, among many others.

Marilyn Murray Willison is a six-time author and respected international journalist who has contributed to over two dozen publications in both the UK and the US. In addition to her successful non-fiction books, her byline has appeared in London’s Sunday Mirror, Daily Express and The Daily Mail. Stateside, she has written for The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, The Denver Post, The Miami Herald, Town & Country, Allure, and Ladies Home Journal magazines, among others. Her journalistic expertise ranges from book reviews, fashion trends, and travel articles to high-profile celebrity interviews.

When not working on her own literary endeavors, she helps authors refine and structure their books projects. From autobiographies, biographies, cook books and memoirs, Willison has helped a growing number of writers complete and improve their manuscripts until they are ready to be published. So far, she has 19 editorial clients whose books are now available on Amazon. Her meticulous attention to grammar, spelling, structure and syntax has earned her two affectionate titles: “Ms. Grammarama” and “Palm Beach’s Book Doctor.”
Willison is one of only a handful of journalists to have been invited to interview Britain’s Princess Anne, cover the Royal Wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, and dine with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip on the Royal Yacht Britannia. Among her one-on-one celebrity interviews are profiles of Sir Paul McCartney, Placido Domingo, Kirk Douglas, and Christopher Reeve. Currently, she actively posts THE SELF-EMPOWERED WOMAN blog, lectures and promotes both her book of the same name as well as her memoir, and helps aspiring authors fine-tune their manuscripts. She lives in West Palm Beach, Florida with her husband, Tony Fragiacomo.
